Mom It Forward is all about building community and sharing information and experiences to help other moms and dads everywhere become better parents. We're always looking for great new, original content to bring value to our site. Check out the different Mom It Forward categories, but first, see our submission guidelines below:

Content

Please follow these guidelines when submitting to Mom It Forward:

  • Posts may not be more than 300-500 words.
  • Content must be the work of the contributor.
  • The post must be new and original (may not already be featured on your or anyone else’s site) unless otherwise agreed upon ahead of time.
  • Content should be uplifting, positive, informative, offer advice and guidance, and/or empowering for women and moms.
  • In-text links, where appropriate, may be included. Feel free to promote posts on your blog.
  • Posts may not be advertorial in nature.
  • Mom It Forward reserves the right to edit content and format prior to publishing.

Writing Tips

  • Mom It Forward readers like posts with lots of tips and tricks, so make sure to include helpful and unique information.
  • Make your ‘How-to’ or tutorial posts easy to follow by writing in a step-by-step style.
  • Break up your content with headlines and subheads to make your post easy to read and scannable.

 

Images

Follow these guidelines when uploading images to your post:

  • Posts must include at least one image (720 x 315 minimum size).
  • Horizontal images are preferred in the post.
  • Featured Image must be free of writing or water marks. This is the picture that will appear on our rotating viewer.
  • Featured Image must be a horizontal image as they work best when rotating on the home page.
  • If you use an image that is not your own, you need to ensure you have rights to use that image.
  • Give credit for photos that are not your own with a statement and link at the bottom of the post.

 

Re-posting

Content may be re-posted after the assigned “live” date as long as the following conditions are met:

  • Change the title and first two paragraphs of the original content
  • Include a disclaimer at the bottom that states: "This post was originally published at MomItForward.com on <insert date here>." (Please link to the original post.)

 

By-Line

This is a short description explaining who you are and what you do. If you want us to refer back to you, feel free to include your blog and social media links. Also include a profile picture/avatar. We include these at the bottom of our posts.

Do you love crafting? Good, because we love posting great craft posts from our community. We like our craft posts to be easy to follow tutorials with great images to accompany the description. Remember, great photos are all about great lighting, so make sure you take your crafting pictures in natural light, if possible.

If you are submitting multiple images to accompany your post, please clearly name your images and note where to place each image in your content.

Share fun activities, trips and tradition ideas from your family. This can include field trips, play dates, meal time conversation starters, places to go as a family … the list goes on and on. The most important part of your post: FUN! You should have fun writing your post and participating in your family activity.

We like to our Family Fun posts to fit into the following categories: Activities/Parties, Family Fun/Traditions, and Travel.

Make mealtime for mom a little less stressful with some of your favorite recipes and cooking tips and tricks. Share meals-on-the-go, quick tips for dinner prep, easy desserts, etc.—anything to save moms and dads time.

Submitted recipes may be copies from someone else. However, you must give full disclosure and credit to the recipe owner.

We like to our Food posts to fit into the following categories: Meal Plans, General Recipes, and Sweet Treats.

Our Lifestyle section is all about staying well rounded in all aspects of your life, not just parenting. You can talk about relationships—how to build and strengthen relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, siblings, friends, neighbors, community members, global family, etc.

Or share your insights into Health and Wellness—anything that relates to physical, social, emotional, or mental health and wellness.

Every mom needs some “me time.” This can range from new hobbies to travel, fashion, good books, or entertainment.

At Mom It Forward, we put great emphasis on making a difference in our families, communities, and the world. We’re always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on those around us. Ages & Stages

This can include topics like manners/socialization, parenting techniques, and milestones for baby, toddler, elementary-aged, tweens, teens, and college-aged children.

Education

Share how to be an involved parent in your child’s education, or how to help your children maximize their education. This can include how tos, awesome activities, resources, etc.

Home Management

Share your favorite tips and tricks for time management, frugal living (couponing, budgeting, inexpensive activities, retirement planning, food storage, etc.), green living, or organization (at home or in your business).
